ROCKLAND - Four fishermen are safe, after the Coast Guard rescued them 60 miles off the coast of Rockland.

The captain of the Aaron and Melissa II radioed the Coast Guard around 7:45 Wednesday morning, saying the 76-foot fishing boat was taking on water.

A Coast Guard crew launched from Air Station Cape Cod, and located the fishermen.

All four were hoisted into the rescue helicopter and later taken to Mid Coast Hospital, where they are reported to be in good condition.

Authorities say the weather conditions were reported to have 20-foot seas, 30-knot winds and the water temperature was 50 degrees.
