Rotary Veterans Day breakfast benefits Salvation Army

Written by

BREWER - Hundreds of veterans, their families and community members enjoyed a hot meal at the annual Veterans Day pancake breakfast at Jeff's Catering.

The Bangor Area Breakfast Rotary Club, assisted by children from the Bangor Y, served up a pancake and sausage breakfast just before the annual parade.

“I walk in all the parades and usually before the parade, I come to the breakfast and shake hands with people, the kids,” said Ronald Judkins, a Navy veteran from Bangor. “I high-five the kids, you know, and wish everybody a happy Veterans Day.”

Military veterans eat for free and all the money raised by the Rotary goes to purchase new coats for the Salvation Army, which gives them out to area needy children.
