Skowhegan voters nix new public safety building funding

Written by

SKOWHEGAN - Skowhegan residents voted Tuesday against a plan to borrow millions of dollars to construct a new public safety building.

Voters had to choose whether to allow town leaders to use $8.5 million to construct the new building, which would have housed both the fire and police departments.

The referendum question failed by more than 500 votes.
