MONROE - State Police arrested a Monroe business owner Thursday for allegedly stealing from his clients.

Police say David Webber,48, of Monroe claimed to have completed about $170,000 worth of work at two residences, including plumbing, electrical and well drilling.

Webber owns a heating and cooling business, but police say he holds no professional licenses through the state.

Detectives also determined that the majority of the work Webber claimed to have done at those residences was never completed.

Webber was charged with theft by deception and was taken to the Waldo County Jail, where his bail was set at $50,000.
