Water festival draws young students to UMaine

Written by

ORONO - The Northern Maine Children's Water Festival brought students from across the state to Orono on Tuesday.

More than 600 fourth, fifth and sixth graders came to the event, which took place in several locations on the University of Maine campus.

The festival gave students the opportunity to interact with Maine's top water experts, who taught children about the importance of water in their lives and all the different ways they interact with it on a daily basis.

The festival provided a wide range of hands-on exhibits and presentations for the students as well as a stage show and quiz show for them to participate in.

Teachers were provided different resources to help in their own classroom teachings.
