Candidates for city council addressed issues such as affordable housing, keeping young workers in Bangor, public transit and the opioid crisis.
One of the councilors not currently up for re-election said it is important to vote not only in state elections next month but in local elections, too.
"Voting is I think one of the most important things we can do as citizens of this country. We're very lucky to be able to have that ability to do that and we need to exercise that right to vote," Councilor Gibran Graham said.
Currently, seven candidates are vying for three council spots.
They are John Cashwell, NNicoleGolden-Bouchard, Gretchen Schaefer, Amy Tidd and Seth Braun and incumbents Sarah Nichols and David Nealley.
