Netflix buying studio complex in New Mexico

STATEWIDE - Google is saying goodbye to its social network. Seven years after launching Google Plus, the Facebook competitor is being shut down for consumers.

The move comes after the Wall Street Journal reported that the private data of about half a million Google Plus users was exposed earlier this year, but Google never told anyone.


Meanwhile, Facebook in making a new push into video calls. The company is introducing two new devices called the Portal and the Portal Plus.


Both feature touch screens and cameras and have Amazon's Alexa built in. Prices start at $200.


Netflix is looking at New Mexico to produce shows and movies. The streaming service is buying a studio complex in Albuquerque. New Mexico's governor said the expansion of the studio will create about 1,000 jobs.


And Papa John's Pizza may be getting a takeover bid soon.


The Wall Street Journal said that hedge fund Trian Fund Management is exploring a bid after Papa John's put itself up for sale amid a fight between the board and founder John Schnatter.
