Search for missing Blue Hill woman intensifies Featured

BLUE HILL - Nearly 50 people searched the woods of Blue Hill on Monday for any sign of a woman who has been missing for nearly three months.

Monday's effort again concentrated on woods in the Grindleville section of Blue Hill, where 37-year-old Jessica Grindle was last seen alive.

Police and game wardens searched the area in August to no avail. Now, family members and friends are trying to locate the missing woman.

Last Friday, searchers found several items which were turned over to the Maine State Police for processing.

"There were several items. I believe there was a backpack and some sneakers. And then I believe there several other items, including a charger," Alicia Pearson, the missing woman's cousin, said.

Grindle has been missing since July 24. A candlelight vigil is planned 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Blue Hill Town Hall. Wednesday is Jessica Grindle's 38th birthday.
