Deputies arrest 5 people allegedly operating Detroit drug ring

DETROIT - Five people allegedly operating a drug ring in Somerset County were arrested after an early morning bust in Detroit.

At around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, Somerset County sheriff's deputies searched a home on North Road.

 

Inside the residence, authorities found 26 grams of crack cocaine, a small amount of heroin, various pills and more than $7,400 in cash.

 

Police say the drugs are worth $2,800.

 

Sheriff's Deputies then arrested five people on drug trafficking and possession charges.

 

They include 34-year-old Lucas Judkins and 30-year-old Tabatha Lombard, both of Detroit, as well as 21-year-old Chelsea Clements of Plymouth.

 

Also arrested were 26-year-old Dashawn White and 34-year-old Jamel Champagne of New York.

 

Lombard and Clements are being held on $10,000 cash bail. The other three are being held on $20,000 cash bail.

 

They are all due back in court on Nov. 14.

 

Authorities say this is an ongoing investigation and more charges are expected.
