GORHAM - The police department at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham is alerting students after a man apparently exposed himself to a student.

They say Sunday afternoon, a female student was walking on campus and approached by a man in a dark colored SUV who asked for directions.

When the man had asked the student to look a GPS device from outside the car, she then saw his private parts exposed.

Police say that man is described as having a dark complexion, unshaven, in his mid-20s, with a heavy accent and at the time of the incident, he wore a necklace featuring the word "Africa."

Authorities have notified all college and university campuses across the state about the incident.
