Fire destroys cattle barn Featured

Written by

DOVER-FOXCROFT - A barn fire with cattle inside went up in flames in Dover-Foxcroft on Saturday afternoon.

Officials said it happened around noon on Norton Hill Road.

They said a neighbor spotted the fire and alerted the resident of the home.

Officials said the time they got there, the barn was fully engulfed in flames. Their main goal was to get the cattle out. Nearly 30 cattle were inside and all but six were saved. They said the cattle were then moved to another barn.

Crews from more than seven neighboring towns helped put out the flames.

No one was injured and there was no immediate word on the fire's cause.

The barn is a total loss.
