BANGOR - Marchers taking to the streets of Bangor to rally against violence.

The fifth annual end violence together rally and march took place at West Market Square Saturday afternoon.

The event included music, speakers, art projects, tabling, and a march through downtown.

It was put on by more than thirty local organizations and faith communities, working on things like poverty and domestic violence.

Co-coordinator of Pax Christi Maine Mary Ellen said, "Everyone's come together to send a message of peace and wanting to change from a culture of violence to a culture of non-violence."

Saturday's rally was part of a national campaign to spread peace throughout the United States.

More than 1,600 events are planned to take place this week for international week of actions.
