Waldo Country Triad auction coming up

Written by

BELFAST - The Waldo County Triad helps improve the lives of senior residents through a variety of different programs -- a daily phone call, free warm clothing, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and reflective house numbers to name a few.

And it's all free for those age 50 and older. The program is paid for by generous donations and the triad's annual fundraiser -- a live auction this Friday in Belfast.

"We have a lot of fun with it. We have chickens that get auctioned. We have loads of gravel. We have gift certificates from all over Waldo County. We probably have 60 or 65  five gift certificates for everything from tattoos to round bales of hay to jewelry," Waldo County Sheriff Jeff Trafton said.

The auction will take place at Redman's Hall located at 153 Main St. in Belfast.

Doors open for previews at 5 p.m. and the auction begins at 5:45 p.m.

Donations are still being accepted.
