The license plates will be attached to state police cars until the end of September. They then will be signed by individual troopers and collected to be sold at an online auction and at other events to benefit the children's hospital.
It's the fifth time the state police have issued plates to benefit nonprofit organizations.
The previous commemorative plates raised between $15,000 and $20,000 dollars for each of the organizations.
September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
