Lunch donated to first responders

BANGOR - The Bangor Police Department got a complimentary Labor Day lunch from Olive Garden.

Staff from the Bangor restaurant donated pasta, bread sticks, and salad to first responders. It's the seventeenth year in a row Olive Garden has coordinated the first responder lunches nationwide.

Restaurant staff said it's a way for them to say thank you to those who keep local communities safe each and every day.

Bangor Police Officer Keith Larby said they're grateful for the community's support.

"It's nice to be able to actually come in and sit down and have a hot meal and not have to eat in the car, rush or anything like that," said Officer Larby. "So we're certainly very appreciative of that."

Olive Garden switches which organization they give back to every Labor Day. Restaurant staff said it's something they enjoy doing.
