BANGOR – A pair of juveniles is believed to be responsible for two burglaries at the Bangor Public Library.
Library officials say security cameras captured images of the boys as they broke in Sunday night. In that case they took a canister that was set up to collect donations for the library’s renovation fund.
Then last night they believe the same people broke in and took the donated flat screen television in the entrance.
“It’s just a shame and heartbreaking, because that was our patron’s contribution,” Lisa Frazell, director of marketing & development at the Bangor Public Library, says. “The fact that this is a community library and we try to help as many people as possible it’s just a shame. These people were giving back to us donating through this jug, so it’s a little saddening.”
It’s unclear how much money was in the donation jar when it was taken.
Police are now investigating and hope to hear from anyone who knows about the break-ins.
