WASHINGTON COUNTY – Three people were arrested on drug charges stemming from two separate incidents in Washington County Wednesday.
Around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle driven by 54-year-old David Foss of Jonesport on Water Street in Addison.
Authorities say after he was pulled over, Foss dumped a bag of suspected heroin on the floor of his truck.
That powder was ingested by a drug detection dog, which had to be removed from the scene and taken to a local vet clinic to be treated.
As a result, Foss was charged with unlawful possession of drugs, falsifying physical evidence and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Foss was taken to the Washington County Jail, where his bail was set at $15,000 cash.
Following that traffic stop, deputies then went to perform a bail check in Milbridge.
As a result, Karen Manning, 52, of Milbridge and Joseph Strout, 47, of Cherryfield were both charged with unlawful trafficking of drugs.
Manning is facing an additional charge of violating bail conditions.
Both are behind bars in Washington County, where bail was set at $10,000 cash each.
