The organization will host its own Paws in the Park and Clear the Shelters Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
"The goal is to adopt as many animals as possible. We want to clear our shelter. To help do that, we'll be waiving the fees of all of our adult animals and then reducing the fees for our kittens," Executive Director Hillary Roberts said.
Last year, more than 80,000 pets were adopted across the country.
All the animals up for adoption at the Kennebec Valley Humane Society have been spayed or neutered and are up to date on vaccinations.
In addition to the chance to adopt animals, the event will feature food and music.
