CHERRYFIELD - A New York man accused of murdering a woman in Cherryfield last year is expected to be returned to Maine to face charges.

Carine Reeves, 38, received a 20-year sentence Thursday in New York for an assault that took place in that state.

Now that authorities have reached a conclusion in that case, Reeves will be able to come to Maine for the July 2017 murder of 55-year-old Sally Shaw.

The body of the New Gloucester woman was found on the side of a road in Cherryfield last summer. She had been shot in the head.

Quaneysha Greeley, 20, has also been charged with Shaw's murder.

The three reportedly were involved in a love triangle but a motive for the killing remains unclear.

Reeves is expected to appear in a New York courtroom next weekend for a fugitive warrant, according to the Bangor Daily News.

He should be returned to Maine after that to face the murder charge.
