WINSLOW - A Waterville man has died after a single vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Winslow, according to Winslow Police.

Chief Shawn O'Leary with the Winslow Police Dept. said Gabriel Stuart, 52, died after driving about 90 feet off Augusta Road. Police responded just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

A 29-year-old woman and an infant were also in the vehicle. All three individuals were trapped in the car and needed to be extracted.

Police said both the woman and infant were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The woman was later released from the hospital.

Stuart died at the scene.

Winslow Police said everyone in the car was wearing a seat belt, and the infant was secured in a child seat.

The investigation is ongoing. Maine State Police will be reconstructing the crash to try to determine a cause.
