ELLSWORTH - A man accused of raping a woman who has developmental disabilities has been indicted by a Hancock County grand jury.

Van Stevens, 49, was arrested in May and is charged with two counts of gross sexual assault.

Officials said the man's 26-year-old victim was a client of a social service agency for which Stevens worked as a bus driver.

A lawyer for the woman's family said she suffers from issues that impair her memory and judgment.

Stevens allegedly sexually assaulted her in February.
