BANGOR – With the summer construction season underway, there are several buildings going up in the Bangor area.
Bangor Savings Bank is creating a new waterfront campus that overlooks the Penobscot River.
The bank is refurbishing a building at 20 South Street and is building a new headquarters on Main Street.
“They’re underway with a new building on the corner of Main and Railroad, which is what a lot of people see. And if you notice the backside of that has no windows, that’s because that is the portion that will be attached to the parking garage. The parking garage will sort of be the third phase of construction,” Bangor Economic Development Director Tanya Emery said.
A company called Convenient MD has torn down the old Momma Baldacci’s Restaurant on Broadway and is putting in an urgent care facility.
There is also a new Tradewinds convenience store and gas station is being built on Coldbrook Road in Hampden and Down East Sheet Metal is building a new home in Holden on Copeland Hill Road.
