BAR HARBOR - A meeting will be held in Bar Harbor on Monday night to discuss plans to return ferry service to Nova Scotia.

Bay Ferries has submitted a proposal to return The CAT ferry to Mount Desert Island as soon as next June.

It once operated out of Bar Harbor but has been sailing from Portland in recent years.

The company's plan calls for spending $3 million dollars to upgrade the old ferry terminal and pay Bar Harbor $200,000 a year to rent the facility.

The town council plans to discuss the proposal during a meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday. The head of Bay Ferries will also be there to answer questions.
