AUGUSTA - A man from New York received his sentence Friday for taking part in the murder of an Augusta man.

Aubrey Armstrong is one of the people convicted of robbing and killing 31-year-old Joseph Marceau in November of 2015.

During a sentencing hearing Friday morning in Augusta, Armstrong was ordered to serve 30 years in prison.

A co-defendant testified they were planning to steal heroin from the victim but that the incident turned into a savage beating.

A judge later found Armstrong guilty of felony murder and robbery but acquitted him on another murder charge because it was not proven the Armstrong was the person who actually killed Marceau.

Armstrong's sentencing hearing will take place in Augusta.

Two other suspects have already pleaded guilty to murder and robbery and are awaiting their sentences. A third suspect received a two-year sentence.
