The emerald ash border was recently found in Frenchboro and Madawaska and there is a concern it could spread and devastate Maine's forests.
The state is trying to come up with a plan to stop the insect and will issue an emergency order within the next two weeks.
Both state and federal quarantines are expected soon. They may be put into place once the emergency order is in place.
In the meantime, the forest service is welcoming public feedback.
