DEXTER - A Dexter man is facing charges after he allegedly ran from police.

The York County Sheriff's Office said deputies attempted to stop a truck driven by 30-year-old David BarretT on Wednesday afternoon.

They said he got out of the truck and ran into a nearby home. While deputies were searching the property, Barrett reportedly escaped from a bathroom window, only to be captured when he was found hiding in some bushes, the sheriff's office said.

Barrett now is charged with operating after suspension, felony operating under the influence, refusing to submit to arrest and violating the conditions of his release.

He also was driving without a valid license.

Officials said Barrett was not supposed to be driving or consuming alcohol because of a previous offense.
