Queen City Cinema Club about to open in Bangor

BANGOR - A new cinema will be opening in Bangor this week,  and they're offering a different kind of movie experience.

The Queen City Cinema Club will be officially open for business on Friday.

The movie theater on Main Street is home to two private rooms that people can rent to watch movies or other forms of media.

Joshua Molton, the owner of Queen City Cinema Club, said they have more than 1,300 movie titles to choose from, but patrons are also welcome to bring their own.

More or less, everything is up to the customer, something workers said creates an individualized experience.

"You get to pick your own show time and pick your own movie," said Moulton. "We do take reservations but walk-ins are also acceptable."

They'll be selling standard movie snacks, as well as beer and wine.

There is also a common area for board games and video games, which are free to play with the purchase of any concession.

The cinema club will be open Friday from noon to midnight and workers said everybody is welcome.
