Motorcycle rider hurt in crash with pickup in Lubec

LUBEC - One person was airlifted to the hospital over the weekend after a motorcycle and pickup truck crashed on Dixie Road.

Police said that the crash happened around noon on Saturday, while a pickup truck driver traveling south on Dixie Road was turning at the peak of a knoll into a dip and could not see the motorcyclist traveling the opposite way coming toward them.


Officials that the motorcyclist used his brakes but was not able to avoid colliding with the truck.


The owner of the truck helped the motorcyclist, who was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor by LifeFlight helicopter but has since been released from the hospital.


Police said no one was at fault and no charges are pending.
