Motorcycle ride and raffle benefits kids with cystic fibrosis

ELLSWORTH - The Red Knights Maine Chapter IIl rode their motorcycles on Sunday to help two young siblings with cystic fibrosis.

They met at the Elk's Lodge in Ellsworth. The ride took the bikers to Bucksport and back.

Money raised went to a local family that has two kids with cystic fibrosis. They were at the event.

Their grandmother says the disorder affects their lungs and pancreas.

All of the money raised form ride registrations went straight to their medical bills.

Their grandmother, Debra Strout, said she was thankful for the Red Knights hosting the fundraiser.

"They're a good cause and they do a lot of things for different organizations," said Strout. "Just whatever we bring in is appreciated."

After the bike ride, there was a lunch and raffle with baskets donated by local businesses.

The Red Knights said they also raise funds for the Make a Wish Foundation.
