Two arrested in northern Maine meth lab bust

PORTAGE LAKE - Two people from northern Maine are behind bars after drug agents discovered a meth lab inside their home.

On Tuesday, drug agents and state troopers searched the home of 42-year-old Cleveland Long and 33-year-old Amber Pulcifer in Portage Lake.

Inside the home, police found evidence of the making of methamphetamine, as well as a small amount of finished methamphetamine, which drug agents say the two intended to sell.

Authorities say a two-year-old child was home at the time of the search, which raises the charges against the couple to criminal.

The child has since been turned over to child protective services.

Both Long and Pulcifer face charges of aggravated unlawful operation of a meth lab and unlawful trafficking.

Both were taken to the Aroostook County Jail, where bail was set at $2,000 cash each.

Police say this is the 27th lab incident response for drug agents so far this year.
