Woodlands Senior Living's purple lemonade stand to help fight Alzheimer's

Written by

BREWER - In what many would say is a "cool" and delicious way to help in the battle against Alzheimer's disease, Woodlands Senior Living in Brewer will be making lemonade and iced coffee Thursday to support the Alzheimer's Association.

All of the fresh squeezed lemonade and freshly brewed coffee will be given out for donations.

A stand will be set up at the Woodlands location on Colonial Circle Drive, where people can drop by for a cold drink or place orders for delivery.

"This is the second year we're doing it and we're spicing it up a little, though, because we're offering delivery in Bangor and Brewer," Woodlands Executive Director Benjamin Smith said. "So, people can call here to woodlands and make an order for the full office."

The lemonade will be purple -- the color used to raise awareness about Alzheimer's.

The fundraiser is being conducted on the longest day of the year to show what life can be like for those who live with the disease.

Orders also can be placed by calling 314-0854.
