Bangor Police find suspected explosives at Essex Street residence

BANGOR - Bangor Police say they believe they made have intercepted explosives at a local home.

Police say earlier Tuesday afternoon, the criminal investigation division and the special enforcement team executed a search warrant at a residence on Essex Street.

During the search, investigators say they discovered suspected explosives inside the residence. A portion of the road was shut down as a precaution and some neighboring residents were evacuated.

Explosives disposal crews arrived around 6:45 p.m. to safely remove the suspected explosives.

The road has since been re-opened and all residents have been allowed to return home.

The investigation is ongoing and police will be on scene throughout the evening. Police say no arrests have been made thus far.

She studied abroad in Ronda, Spain and traveled to Panama with an international reporting class. Kayla kept busy in college, spending four years working as a student manager in the dining hall.

Kayla grew up in the village of Shawnee-on-Delaware, located in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, so transitioning into life in Vacationland was a piece of cake! A self-described winter fanatic, she loves all things snow related, including hitting the slopes on her snowboard. She also likes hiking, kayaking or doing anything outdoors.
