Local primary, referendum results rounded up

STATEWIDE - While some election results might not be known for a few more days now that ranked-choice voting has come to Maine, the results of many other votes conducted on Tuesday are available.

In Bangor, the school budget passed with 77 percent of voters in favor.


Residents of Bar Harbor voted to approve the ferry terminal land purchase with nearly 1,400 residents in favor and slightly more than 200 opposed. They also voted in favor of a parking meter system, with nearly 860 votes in favor and nearly 720 votes opposed.


In the race for the state Senate seat for District 7, Louis Luchini of Ellsworth defeated Ian Schwartz, reclaiming that position once again to represent parts of Hancock County.


For the District 11 senate position representing Waldo County, Erin Herbig was leading with 89 percent of the vote.


Waterville Mayor Nick Isgro weathered an attempt to unseat him. He survived a recall vote launched after he sparked controversy over things he said in the wake of the Florida school shooting.
