WINTERPORT - About 200 people laced up their running shoes for a good cause.

Saturday, the Winterport Area Business Association held their 5th annual Pants on Fire 5k Beer Run and Walk

The dog-friendly run brings together the community. It benefits their recreation department by helping to improve the Abbot Field, to allow kids at the Wagner Middle school to play their home games on their own field.

It also helps out the Winterport volunteer fire department.

Director of the Pants on Fire 5k beer and run walk Kelly Hull said, "It's going to go towards upgrading equipment, providing additional training for our volunteer fire department. So really the things important to allow them to respond in a quick fashion."

The funds will be split between the two town departments.
