BUCKSPORT – The town’s waterfront will truly be a magical place on Sunday, when the community comes together to celebrate all thing magical.
Pixie Harbor Hoopla runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. People of all ages are encouraged to dress up as pirates, fairies, unicorns and other characters.
They’ll be provided with everything they need to build a pixie palace, gnome homes or even a fairy fort.
“It’s a very creative event,” said Leslie Wombacher of the Bucksport Bay Chamber of Commerce. “We have a bubble fountain. We have the Gnome Depot, which is a place where you can come to pick up sticks and things to build fairy houses all along the waterfront. Last year we had 77 houses built.”
Local businesses are getting involved by offering special treats and hidden gardens filled with treasures. Meanwhile, the local library is setting up a fairyland library where kids can climb in and read.
