Greenville trying to enhance downtown

GREENVILLE -The town is trying to enhance their downtown area just in time for the summer tourist season.

Town officials said some of these improvements include a Friday night summer music program.

The Moosehead Artisan Village, where artists can rent a cabin downtown for a week , will return. Folks will also notice new memory benches scattered around town.

"So when you're downtown, there is music going," said Ruth McLauglin, who is part of the Greenville Planning and Beautification Committee. "There are artist shops to be in. Things are looking prettier."

Greenville is also planning to add an information kiosk and is in the middle of a facade improvement program. One day, town leaders said they hope to bury the utility lines and add new curbing and lighting in the downtown area.
