Multiple departments were called to the home on Randall Lane around midnight.
Two people were inside when the fire broke out, but were alerted by their dog and made it out safely.
There were no serious injuries, although one woman did have minor burns.
The Orland fire chief said there was a delay in getting water.
By the time crews got to the home, it was a total loss.
The building had several editions and was reconstructed multiple times.
"Several layers of metal roofing which made it very hard to get at the fire in a lot of places," said Orland Fire Chief Bob Conary. "We had to bring an excavator in to knock it apart to be able to get in there and make sure it was out"
Officials say the fire does not seem to be suspicious.
The State Fire Marshal's Office is expected to be on scene later this morning to investigate the cause.
