Second fire breaks out at Augusta waste facility

AUGUSTA - Sunday morning's fire broke out at the Hatch Hill solid waste landfill, and is currently under investigation.

That's the same facility where a fire broke out early Saturday morning. Augusta fire officials said the second fire started at the same property, but in a different spot.

They said this fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. Tankers had to be called in from other towns.

There were no injuries and the fire has been put out. Augusta fire officials said the cause is still under investigation.
