Written by

STATEWIDE - Maine voters will see a different type of voting at the their voting booths next month.

After being debated for some time, ranked-choice voting is being implemented for the first time with the June primary election.

Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap said the new voting method has many Mainers asking questions, such as how the ballots are set up, how the tabulation is going to work and do they have to rank their choices or can they just vote for one candidate.

To that end, state election officials have released a citizens guide to the June election and the new voting method. For more information, visit the Secretary of State Office's website at www.maine.gov.
