NORWAY - A man has died in an early Sunday morning fire in Norway.

Officials said 68-year-old Stephen McAllister was found in the living room of his one-story home by firefighters when they arrived at his Greenwood road home early Sunday morning.

They said flames reached to the second floor and a crawl space attic before crews could knock the fire down.

The fire was reported by a neighbor who saw smoke coming from McAllister's home.

Officials said the home is a total loss as fire gutted its inside.

Three fire marshal investigators responded to the fire scene. The body was transported to the state medical examiner's office in Augusta for examination.
