AMITY-Two men were injured in northern Maine following a scary encounter with a moose.

State Police say it was just before 6:00 this morning when 34 year old Jake Dehahn and 37 year old Josh Burgos were traveling on Route 1.

They were passing through the town of Amity when a moose suddenly entered the roadway and into their path.

The moose was killed and Dehahn's crumpled car traveled across a field where it came to rest along a wood line.

Dehahn had to be pried from the vehicle with the jaws of life.

Both he and Burgos were then transported to Houlton Regional Hospital with serious,, but not life threatening injuries.
