Husson preparing to welcome largest class in 120 years

BANGOR - Husson University is bucking a national trend.

Many small colleges across the country are seeing fewer high school seniors pursue higher education after graduation, which has had a negative impact on university and college budgets. In some cases, institutions of higher education have had to close their doors.

This fall, however, Husson will be bringing in it's largest class in 120 years.

"Students and families are looking for value so I think with our price point and programs, high-quality programs that lead to successful careers, I think, really has national and international appeal," John Champoli, Husson's vice president of enrollment management, said.

Officials say 98 percent of Husson students are in graduate school or have a job in their field within one year of graduation.
