HAMPDEN - A 38-year-old woman was charged with attempted murder in Hampden on Friday after she allegedly stabbed a man in the throat.

Hampden Police said they were called to 646 North Main Road before 10 p.m. Friday.

Police say Sonya Dupray was arrested and taken to the Penobscot County Jail after she allegedly stabbed a 53-year-old man in the apartment building. The victim is in stable condition.

Police are not releasing how the two knew each other and what prompted the violence.

Dupray is expected to make her first court appearance on Tuesday.
