Leaders of the group "Transportation for All" said they've surveyed more than 370 locals on the importance of public transportation. A majority stated they support extending bus hours past 10 p.m. As it stands now, most routes end shortly after 6:00 p.m.
The group says that's much too early.
Transportation for All organizer Martin Chartrand stated "It creates economic growth and it makes our community environmentally sustainable, so it's important for our future. Evening bus service is gonna be the most important way for us to get those benefits."
Chartrand said an extension to 10 p.m. could cost the communities as much as $600,000 per year. He argues it's an investment well worth the price tag.
