Today, one Maine Representative, who also is a nurse practitioner said proposed federal legislation backed by Senator Susan Collins would increase the war on women's health care. She also said she's optimistic the legislature will provide funding for Medicaid expansion.
Just last November Maine voters approved Medicaid expansion, but the legislature needs to write the check.
Representative Anne Perry, D-Calais, said "Even though there may be complaints of more spent because of Medicaid, we will have a healthier population. And I don't know of one business who doesn't want a healthier workforce."
Perry also stated she was disappointed Senator Collins was one of the sponsors of a bill that would weaken women's health care options.
