BANGOR - A former Bangor teacher is facing charges after police say he had been videotaping women in public places without their permission.

Bangor Police say 30-year-old Benjamin Emmott of Winterport has been secretly recording women in various public locations in Bangor.

Detectives say the investigation reveals Emmott had been doing this for years.

Police identified a number of women in the videos and add that none of the women appear to be less than 18 years of age.

According to Bangor Superintendent Betsy Webb, Emmott resigned from the school department on February 23 and is not allowed on school property.

Emmott faces multiple charges of violation of privacy for recording a part of a person's body that is concealed from public view under clothing and "a reasonable person would expect it to be safe from surveillance."

Police say the investigation is ongoing and that Emmott will likely face more charges.
