Witness helps catch suspected robber at Bangor Home Depot

BANGOR - Police made an arrest Monday after a game warden caught a couple suspects in the Home Depot parking lot.

One of the men put up a fight.

That's when a bystander jumped in to help tackle the suspected robber to the ground.

Monty Rand said he was just there to buy a snowblower, but didn't hesitate when he saw the warden needed help.

"Next thing you know the guy takes off running," said Rand. "So I sped up a little bit and saw there were two other guys in the car there. I jumped out of the truck and ran over, and said I'm going to try to help if I can. And I kind of wrestled the guy to the ground."

Rand said it looked like the suspect had stolen something from the store.

At this time it hasn't been confirmed by police what exactly happened.
