Sheriff's Cup basketball tournament

ELLSWORTH - The 18th annual Sheriff's Cup basketball competition is taking place all weekend long in Ellsworth.

It started as a small 18 tournament fun event and has expanded into 32 teams.

The money that's raised from the games is put towards the sheriff's charities who, throughout the year buy gifts for kids at Christmas, help people who may have had a fire or who are just down on their luck.

Sheriff of Hancock County Scott Kane "I love it I think this is fantastic to see all the young kids playing and parents coming from literally all corners of the state."

They will end the weekend with a championship game tomorrow around 2 PM.

Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for a student.

Prior to graduation Shonna interned at News12 Long Island.
