BANGOR - The Bangor YMCA is partnering with AARP to offer a seminar to help folks avoid getting scammed.

On Tuesday February 27th Sheriff Troy Morton will be at the "Y" talking about what to look out for and tips to avoid falling victim to a scam.

The seminar is geared toward adults ages 55 and older, who are most at risk.

YMCA Manager Jennifer Crane stated "So we're going to be handing out flyers and pamphlets they can take with them and say this is what I can look for when I get a piece of mail or when I get an email or phone call from some unknown person saying I have a chance to win some money or something like that."

The free event will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Bangor Y.

Space for the event is limited, so organizers ask anyone interested in attending to register. To do so, stop by the Y or visit them online at bangorymca.org.
