Maine Ethics Commission considers investigation of the Executive Director of Maine's Republican Party Featured

AUGUSTA - The Maine Ethics Commission is deciding whether to launch an investigation of the Executive Director of Maine's Republican Party.

Jason Savage has admitted he's the person behind "The Maine Examiner", a website that democrats claim have slandered them in articles.

The commission will try to determine if any election rules have been violated.

Savage claimed he didn't use party money to operate the website and said he did it all on his own.

Democrats said since it was a political site and not a news site, Savage was required to report expenditures.

The ethics commission met Thursday morning in Augusta to consider the matter.
